uh so a few days ago i said kodi would be trying to push people away but i didn't realize it would be so soon. she and adam fought last night (i still feel really bad for hijacking venus's post about relaxing, i'm sorry jj <33333) and some things were said that made kodi think a lot. but her thinks are bad thinks and they make her angry and defensive as opposed to self-reflexive, so instead of trying to take what adam said into consideration, she's decided to, uh, throw herself into her work more and ignore lots of people in case they also think she's a bulldozing bully. (hint: she is.)
because of ^ this, this week she's steering clear of friends she thinks would ~side with adam~ in the imaginary war in her head, and this includes atticus, scout, suzy, flint, and eli.
part of this is also stress from college application season. she knows gladstone told them he would help them achieve their dreams but to kodi that feels like just accepting a handout and not actually earning what she's worked hard for, so she's trying to be extremely extra about the whole process and wants to get in on her own merits.
sheeeee's also been acting like she's not into suzy 😎 at all 😎 even though she 😎😎😎 just might be. (journal flirting notwithstanding.)
also: still salty about squad 5 not being chosen for the rescue mission over the weekend. assumes it's because they need to work harder.
between light and temperance she still thinks something at this school is broken
she's been wearing her flight suit halloween jacket a lot, and this was an important addition, thank you for attending my ted talk

Scout just got over being Despair'd and he Did Not Care for it, thank you!! He's all better now, except he's got a weird itching feeling in the back of his mind when he thinks about it at all. So he's going to try to not think about it.
Is proud of his team, especially Ces for stepping up when he was dumb sad! Also feels like a loser for getting messed up, though. And still semi-fretting about his Drain + Dark combo. It means nothing for anyone else, but for him it clearly means he's a Bad Person.
Is kind of feeling a bit wary of Neal!! Not that he doesn't like him, but he's maybe going to hurt Atticus again and also he was the ringleader of getting Flint in trouble. :(
All of his friends need to be happy please?

Current State: One of the very first things she did was go to the lighthouse and get a week's worth of detention. I'm proud of her. She was playing it cool with all the other Breakfast Club kids because they seemed super chill about it, but she had a stomachache for about 36 straight hours afterward. Right now she's kind of just floating along--proud of her squad for how awesomely they saved people in Shadow Land, bought them ice cream afterward because that's how you show Approval, was slightly inappropriately cavalier about the whole operation in the immediate aftermath because she and Slade were punchy.
Also she didn't manage to master the light/dark elemental training so she is determined to just work really hard at meditating. She's going to continue to be very bad at meditating and the longer it takes, the worse she's going to get. B)
Wanted lines:
- Unlikely friend! Maybe someone she is/was paired up with in a group assignment? Or they slammed into each other while playing field hockey in Athletics, and bonded while waiting for medical attention? Or just someone she shares a class/club/interest with that doesn't seem like someone you'd expect to befriend her, and yet they do? Basically, I want someone who can help push Sabrina out of her comfort zone. She will sit very safely in her little bubble of judgment until the end of fucking time unless there's someone that might cajole her to go to a party or have some fun that's not centered around spreadsheets and chess.
- Club stuff?? I would love if there were things she could busy herself with in her extracurriculars or classes. Give her tedious responsibilities! I want her to be suffocatingly busy, and she's supposed to be something of a volunteer-for-everything-do-it-all, but she came in too late for a lot of the club plotting so I'm not sure where to slot her in in some places?
- Academia! I don't know if there's a lot of juniors super focused on academics out there, but if there's any academic rival material, I'm here for it! I know there ARE a lot of tutors, so Sabrina might not be in super high demand there, but if there's anyone looking for a connection (or is already in her circle?) that might need some help in a class, Sabrina is a tryhard motherfucker ready to bust up some like science n shit.
- Friends in general? I specifically wrote a character that's hard to befriend and that's my bad y'all, BUT I would still like her to have more friends outside her squad.

Current State:

Marina is flying pretty high at this point. September was rocky in terms of her personal squad performance and October was a long drawn out death on the romantic front, buuuuut both of these things are pretty well on the up and up right now.
Kyra almost dying during the rescue mission was Not So Great, but she manifested a new power and got to help save her which was v exciting from an ooc standpoint and v upsetting from an ic one. She's not thinking about the bad parts of that now! They won't be doing another exploration for awhile so she can just keep not touching that one!!!
Good things keep happening to this bad child and as of this past weekend, she's entered into a very enthusiastic canoodleship with Kyra. They aren't dating! Marina has a boyfriend! Kyra is lucky it's sweater season! It's all very bad! (They are being "discreet" fwiw, but it's not a ~huge secret~ either. Marina's got a lot feelings on gender/sexuality that she is not ready to start unpacking.)
Like.. completely undeterred by getting a detention for lighthouse antics though, uhhhh, definitely was more bothered by the missing students and the way everything seemed to line up there than she let on.
Still not a fan of Neal, or anyone else playing dad to Marzio. He doesn't need anyone other than her!! None of you yell enough to be their dad anyway!!! She hates it!!!
She'll be getting to see her perfect boy Gremlin later this month and it'll be worth every minute stuck on a Greyhound.
She failed to turn campus into a cat colony on Cat Day, but she did get to see a photo of Mrs. Langbroek's cat, Bobert.
Also she ate .2 more onions than Marzio so is there really anything not great about life right now?

Well, he led a bunch of people on a dead end rule breaking exploration and they all got in trouble and Atticus got mad at him and only a couple days later a bunch of normal kids were kidnapped at the same location his group explored earlier. :)))))))))))) Neal does wonder if it was their fault, but he doesn't know how to deal with this fear.
Neal low key always wonders if Atticus should have been the leader, but after this month his ego has been soothed GREATLY. His squad rescued squad 2!!!
He and Kyra broke up amicably. Oh, she's already dating Marina? Good for her.
Accidentally made Rose thinks he wants to bang her.
Took 3 bites of an onion to ?impress Atticus.
Failed to seduce Dustin... for now.
He and Adam are friends now. :)

Wanted lines: God, I don't know. Neal is Very Busy. If someone wants another short lived relationship maybe it'll happen, but he's also a little distracted. Otherwise he's social and easy to throw at people if you need someone.

while yeialel's newest Anchor ability is heartening -- as well as the squad performing relatively well last exploration -- lucy has been in deeeepest unhappiness re: .... basically everything. which is to say, she's realizing how much she Very Cares about her squad-mates AND still hating herself for ailment Rage a few weeks ago + not managing to take on light/dark. the flare in emotion and a couple of interesting conversations have pushed her to realize things about her Self and uh general approach to life that are not desirable and she's ... alternately trying to ignore and kind of drowning in them
struggling with bullshit of the heart. she misses pearl more now that they worked on a song together for the dance and have kind of been talking again, but she can't parse if it's more of a friendship/artistic thing or something more along the lines of her previous feelings (probably more of the former??? :u it's Mysterious). she also continues to have an embarrassing/obsessive devil crush on her squad leader, which she may attempt to "confess" (which is to say, express in an extremely vague way that may or may not be picked up on because she's dumb).
got detention for playing around at the lighthouse. MAY be ... slightly ... bothered... by timeline/implications of what happened next.
in an obsessive research hole half the time re: magick and mythology and metaphysics thanks to that last experience and wow it's embarrassing

HOO BOY! She's obviously just broken up with Neal and then she almost died in the shadow world which led her to finally be messy enough to kiss Marina, and now they're making out but it's not. Serious and they're not dating. She's not stopping to examine whatever is going on here. She is also not telling anyone about this until it's inevitable; it's compartmentalized and mind your own business.

But her team is doing really well and she's proud of them. She...will be mildly concerned that she can poison people when I decide to let her discover that,along with her dark abilities. Richie's concerns hit her a little harder than she showed.

And also she was placed in a week of detention, which rattled her only because she knows she can't lose her leader spot, but is much more focused on not getting caught than sacrificing her ability to act outside the rules.

Has NOT let herself think about the part where maybe they caused the kidnapping!

Selby was shaken up by recent events (the kidnappings, his roommates going on the rescue mission while he stayed, the flooding in the Shadow World, etc.) and he's been quietly anxious about it. He's still resolved to Do His Best, but he's not looking forward to his next trip into the Shadow World. He doesn't want to admit that he's afraid (especially because all of his friends/squadmates are so brave) but he might because talking about your feelings is Really Important. :(

He's Excited that he learned light magic and that this apparently makes him Madoka~

He's got the biggest, dumbest crush on Russ...even though he knows that's probably a bad idea. ♥

With winter coming, he's focused on planning for the greenhouses for Gardening Club! He's also waiting as patiently as he can for Flora to get back to him about the Shadow World flowers.

Sullivan Sinclair just got over a bad, bad case of Sexy French Depression. Which, wow, THANK GOD FOR THAT AILMENT? Because I was NOT in a good place with him lol, but it let me kind of nudge him into a more serious direction for a bit and that was nice and I think I'm okay again. Oof ANYWAY, IC-wise he slowly climbed out of the ailment over the weekend and is back at 100% today, BUT I think it gave him some Stuff to think about.
He loves loves loves everyone and due to his desire to prove to himself that he is Not A Mistake is a little preoccupied with "thanking" everyone who was kind to him. Might throw a party. Might leave weird furbies everywhere as thanks. TBD.
Will be loving on his friends more than usual lately as a result of the above.
Very satisfied with his own performance as a Support. No worries there. Also thinks that his Squad is absolutely Flaw Free and wants to encourage Rose and Nora and their trash finding.

Dallas isn't feeling as confident in himself after the last two explorations but he is actually feeling more connected to and more confident in his squad because of how they pulled together and kept fighting through exceptionally bad circumstances. And also Marty saved his idiot life. He trusts them but feels like he needs to start carrying his weight.

He just got over the Forget ailment today and is relieved to have his thoughts unfragmented and his brain back in proper working order. He's a little peeved at Russ and Marty for lying to him about his dance partner (>:|) but has actually enjoyed working with Merry these last few days. Maybe he has two dance partners now? WHO KNOWS. He will not be admitting his mistake because he doesn't want to hurt Merry's feelings.

He is Definitely Not thinking about the fact that locals were kidnapped and his dad is a local. This Is Fine.

He's finally getting over his crush on Pearl (mostly) and seeing her more as a friend but he still thinks she's Really Cool and wants her to think he's Also Cool.

would really like to take her squad shooting? she knows that everyone is all assed up at the moment, and while it's not exactly distressing to her, she does think everyone would simmer down if they spent 30-45 minutes absolutely blasting some clay disks. also, it's fun!!!

Current State:

The last week or so has been Hectic for Adam in terms of relationships. He's been overly protective about Eli and Atticus, he had a huge fight with Kodi, and he's just generally been more short-fused than usual. He had to acknowledge this and has been trying to rein himself in and mend a few fences....starting with trying to figure out how to be okay with Neal for Atticus' sake. He's not sure how it's going yet. His personal life is sorta on fire.

Adam is generally proud of his squad and their performance/skill level, but the tension with Kodi has been getting to him and he was really irritated that his squad didn't get to be part of the rescue mission. He's not sure what to do about this but is continuing to work hard and try to keep the squad together. He may have to try to talk to Kodi soon.

He wants to extra wreck Shadows because they made Scout sad. HOW FUCKING DARE THEY???

Really needs to take a chill pill.
Wanted lines: SAME OLD, SAME OLD. I'm pretty happy with Adam's connections and current dynamic, but I'm always happy to branch out and try other things with him.
