It's been ten years since the near-disastrous events in Haling Cove. Apart from a few scattered rift openings throughout the 2019-2020 school year, all has gone quiet in the quaint New England town and the school has become just another school. And so, life goes on...

Did they ever try to talk to anyone about what happened in Haling Cove?: Lenore warned against sharing too readily because fear and mass hysteria only strengthens Shadows, but without the contract they can technically talk about what happened.
