Hey everyone! It's Meggie with YET ANOTHER character.

Yvie Barton is a girl from the suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska. Her mother loves her prize winning cats more than her human daughter. She's on Squad 1, a junior Sword, The Hierophant, and she's super nice. Just, like, soooooooo nice. The sweetest. The nicest gosh darn girl in school. So why is it that people don't do exactly what she wants????

She's a track & field starlet who runs at least once, usually twice a day. People can join her, but she goes hard and oh no she's so sorry if you can't keep up with her! Really! :(

She's a little boy crazy, and at this point it's slim pickings. Maybe she'll just go for Junior. He's like a discount Scout, right???

Despite a sugary sweet demeanor, Yvie is jealous, passive aggressive, and very difficult to understand. If you want to be nice, you can call her a mysterious Scorpio. :)

She hates cats. It's hard to like them when you were named after a dead one whose family portrait is twice as big as your baby photo.

A true believer in the Finchwood cause who wasn't put off by the whole impending doom thing.

She's also an unapologetic gossip, and very astute and observant. She can pick up on peoples' moods pretty easily, but sometimes says she senses your "aura" is different. Does she know auras are bullshit? Who knows.

Very non-confrontational lover of other peoples' drama. If there's chaos she's probably scoping it out on the sidelines.

The most relevant of mine is probably Henry. He wants to be her friend by default because JUNIOR SWORDS and is just...not aware enough most of the time to pick up on the fact that she's not actually that nice. When he does, he probably just assumes she's having a bad day. They've got Athletics and Music together in addition to all the standard classes, so she probably sees him on the regular. Sorry??

Apart from him, Adam's a fellow Sword. He generally ignores the junior and soph Swords, but probably ignores her a little less because she's one of Scout's. I imagine he's semi-aware of the sweet-but-not-actually thing she's got going on and that rubs him the wrong way, but he aims for civility. Selby's a fellow junior and probably buys into her niceness most of the time as well, though her dislike of cats makes him sad. :(

Dallas and Donovan are both pretty far outside of her circle and they're also the most likely of my kids to see through her niceness. Meaning that Dallas is probably not a fan and that Donovan is low-key amused by/curious about her. But they can probably both be ignored.

Yvie finds Henry to be extremely inoffensive and easy to deal with!!! She loves when people don't read too deeply into her "bad days"!

I think there might be a little mutual irritation re: Adam? But also he is a cute boy so she might see-saw between being sooooooo nice and p-a strikeouts.

Selby is another Good Boy that doesn't question her and she likes that. She loves other animals, Selby, it's just that cats are soulless monsters. :(

i feel like.... cc may be the most relevant to her just because they're in shop and athletics together. she, like henry above, probably doesn't realize exactly how mean yvie actually is, and it's possible that if she does notice she doesn't care as long as it doesn't affect her friends :|a

yvie and monet don't have toooo much overlap except for social studies, but i kind of get the feeling they don't get along????? which could be interesting?? but also who knows :c

I think the jr wands are a little Too Much for her to tangle with so CC won't need to worry toooo much about Yvie upsetting her friends. Or if she does it'll be under the cover of the shadow post. Yvie will have generally positive feelings about CC's day dreamy personality.

Yeah they seem like they might annoy one another but we'll have to see!!!!

Yvie thinks Lucy is rude... but she doesn't hate it.

And Suzy is a smart girl who doesn't need to get wrapped up in this nonsense!!!

Venus fully believes that some people can see auras but does not believe that Yvie can see auras. But she's also a kill-them-with-kindness type so she'll be :) so nice :) to her.

Atticus is in Swords w her and friends with Scout obviously. He wants to look after the baby Swords in general but also can probably see right through her act. I imagine she exasperates him a little. He doesn't dislike her, but he's definitely tried to be like "you gotta stop" @ her at least one time, which I'm sure went over swimmingly.

Merry is scared of her. Justice also hates cats!

And of course now I also have Glenn who finds her Untrustworthy but would certainly take a bullet for her anyway.

Yvie likes Atticus a lot when he's not... calling her out on her bullshit. She probably reacts like PUPPY DOG EYES WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT I DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING BY IT :((((( Hates Neal for taking him off the market, and therefore will never acknowledge he exists.

Glenn is her good childhood friend, Yvie is rewriting their history as he tries to squirm out of her grasp.

Scout is obviously the most relevant!!! He likes Yvette and definitely tries to, like, soften any edges he sees with her. He very much appreciates her on the squad and, uhhhhhhh, definitely felt bad if he had any idea about her interest in him. Will run with her whenever she wants!!

Hadlee is kind of a crap shoot??? They share an arcana which honestly Hadlee might be kind of weird about, but also I feel like pageantry + cat showing is close so I could see some camaraderie from that in a weird way??? Idk, honestly this could go either way in my opinion???

Tate is weird and new and probably thinks she's actually nice because he's not paying attention enough to know otherwise.

SCOUT, HER IDEAL MAN, HER SOULMATE IF ONLY THE WORLD WEREN'T SO UNFAIR. Scout's a good influence on her and she really tries hard to please him. Which means she probably did once trip Verona during training to make Scout look better. Her crush on him was definitely obvious. :')

Yeah :ooo We'll have to see how they interact? My gut instinct is that Yvie probably finds Hadlee to be pretty funny, but she's also jealous of how cute and charming she is. Yvie's kind of a dud socially.

look, ces is just really excited to have children to spoil horribly! she's a marshmallow of a human being and even if she DID get that yvie was being passive-aggressive, she'd cheerfully ignore that it was happening. and as someone who also has every intention of marrying scout (in the most platonic manner possible) she feels you.

quincey's also a junior and a casual, sidelines dweller of life in general. but lord only knows how they'd mesh because he's just Bad At People??

Yvie is pretty unquestioningly loyal to Scout and Ces so they're safe from her ire. Ces is cool and fun and exciting and a lot of things that Yvie... is not. Every time Ces indulges her, Yvie imprints on her a little more.

Lyle is in her year/house, and like...barely a human being, but decidedly not a cat, so that's a plus I guess. Probably genuinely thinks she is nice.

Pearlprobably just thinks it's funny to be genuine at her, and Slade just thinks two-facedness is admirable in general.

Pansy is a senior sword and probably knows Yvie a bit from that. Also, because she spends a good amount of time with Henry. I imagine they have their most overlap with Athletics. They're both pretty intuitive people and I kind of think Pansy would have a read on Yvie. Not necessarily know all she's thinking, but would for sure know that Yvie is being a "mysterious Scorpio." Pansy is prone to calling people out on their bullshit, but that can be expressed in a fun way or a sharper way.

Gregory also has a sugary sweet demeanor (...but with a sugary sweet filling, too). KINDNESS FRIENDS. Of course, the cat stuff will confuse Gregory and I kind of suspect Yvie might find him... understandably... annoying.

It might be fun to have them spar a little over that? Yvie's tactic is just deny deny deny, and if Pansy's more playful Yvie might see it as more cat and mouse, rather than Atticus trying to be her dad.

Gregory drives her nuts and she will never admit to anyone she can't stand him because they all love him :)))))))))))))))

Cat and mouse it is! I think that if Pansy sees Atticus taking the more serious/direct tact, then she feels freer to be subtler or more playful.

Gregory's job is to make everyone at this school feel crazy. "Am I think only one who thinks this is weird???"

I don't know yet whether she and Lee would be friends or frenemies or something?? They have some overlap, Lee also loves to gossip. She's not actually bothered by her being not as nice as she acts so long as she likes her, because she's super biased.

Marty isn't savvy enough for her. He's cool with her not being super nice, but if you wanna be a dick just be a dick?? Why do you have to be pretend nice? How are people supposed to tell the difference between when you're real nice and fake nice??

Mason probably takes her at face value and thinks she is nice.
