I've had my coffee and my characters are their own worst enemies
not my character they all have very healthy relationships with themselves
NEAL: Fire because... sun. I really wanted Neal to have an edge where he wasn't just sunshine and rainbows, but also intense and burning. Ice because Pokemon, but I chose it over water because it's hard and solid and freezing, the opposite of Neal's whole vibe. His ailment is confusion because Neal's always go go go and I imagined it as him kind of tripping and dropping everything he usually manages to juggle so well.
ELI: Water because he's passive and weepy, lightning weakness because OBVIOUS REASONS. Although now I'm tickled that most of the boys that can completely undo him are lightning element. His ailment is sleep because Eli's sleep schedule is a fucking wreck and he's always tired!!!!
ZINNIA: Earth for grave dirt and death! Returning to the ground!!! Becoming worm food!!!! Water is her weakness because it's life giving. Her ailment is Rage because she is a sensitive angry girl. I almost chose despair but then I realized when Zinnia is sad she just....... gets angry. So I cut out the middleman.

I have not touched the new characters on the intro meme or really interacted with them on their posts and it’s not because I don’t love them all it’s because I’m a big loser who didn’t finish her app and put myself on timeout in that meme til I did so. The good news is I have only to write a personality section?
