Headcanons:

Marzio ran out of contacts three days ago but he's vain and thinks glasses distract from his cheekbones so he's just been wandering around half blind for three fucking days.

He used to have a pony named Butter that he loved very much but he had to say goodbye to her when his dad went to jail. SO THANKS?? DAD????

He's never seen a movie that hasn't made him cry. Some say, he never will.

He's the fox Robin Hood furry in case you didn't know.

Any time they visit their dad in jail, Marzio stays in the car and refuses to go in. It's not so much that he's mad at his dad, it's more that he doesn't want to feel sorry for him. He's kind of built him up as the Cause of All His Woes at this point and would rather keep his coping mechanism intact thanks?????

His big brother Gino sits on his head a lot. Sometimes he jumps from the second floor to land on Marzio and sit on his head. It's Gino's one skill. It would have been in the opening credits of his reality show.

Gino deserves his own reality show.

Headcanons:

• Sully is lactose intolerant! Lee regularly reminds him to take lactaid because she is a good mom.
• I'm like 60% sure he has an undiagnosed astigmatism
• He and Lee are childhood best friends. They went to the same high school (the high school that Famous Prop Comic Carrot Top also went to). There is a 100% chance that if you get involved with one of them, both of them are your problem.
• Despite the scattered and crazy persona, Sully's actually extremely organized, meticulous and even minimalist when it comes to his personal life. You'll notice hat when he makes things he tends to give them away or put them not in his room - because he can't stand clutter and doesn't form sentimental attachments to objects. Everything in his personal space is organized in labeled bins.
• Sully doesn't own a car back home. He bikes everywhere, but has his driver's license.
• Sully probably wears the skirt uniform from time to time. He's still very much experimenting with what feels most right to him. He owns a few skirts, dresses, and a lot of traditionally feminine clothing and wears make up pretty regularly and I am kinda sad that this does not come up more.
• His biological mother is still out there, and I don't think that she is sober, but she has given up on contacting him until he is a legal adult because the rest of his family blocks contact. When she finally does, it will be a mess.
• I think Sully probably plays D&D with a group that ISN'T Liam's, and he is WAY more interested in The Numbers than The Roleplaying to the point that it may be irritating for the people playing with him.
• He has a youtube channel where he makes weird movies in garage band and from video games like Grand Theft Auto purely for his own enjoyment. He has like no followers. But the video are very weird.
• Even though a lot of his icons have that super slicked hair look, he actually wears his curls loose.

Headcanons:

Wants to become vegan, but isn't there yet. He's a dedicated vegetarian, but is still wrestling with taking that next leap.

Despite his love of animals, he's never been permitted to have a pet of his own. He's only ever fostered, and his parents always insisted every last one be adopted out.

Wishes he could wear more feminine clothing but lacks the confidence. This probably adds a little to his weird resentment of Sully. There's jealousy in addition to attraction.

Lover of curated clutter. Jude is big into The Aesthetic and is meticulous about how he presents himself, both through clothes and belongings. Loves that Cambridge library feel even though he resents academia.

Would not make it as a vet and he knows it. He can't stand schooling and hates dealing with humans. However, he thinks telling people he has sciency aspirations makes them think better of him.

Spoiled at home. His parents make good money and if giving Jude a car, spending money, and way too much freedom makes him easier to deal with, they'll do it.

His little sister hates him and that... actually bothers him. He blames his parents for it, though.

• Had a girlfriend his sophomore year of high school! He was a very good boyfriend (except for the whole not technically being super into her thing) and she was pretty sad when they broke up so he could go to Finchwood :( She's a state chess champion and a massive nerd.

She has a cat named Sylvester. I mentioned him before I apped her then failed to mention him in the actual app but he's real, he's an asshole, and he's always trying to fight her dad.

She has saved every notebook she's ever owned and hoards new ones. Please don't look at her notebooks they're embarrassing. Starting at, like, five she just started obsessively writing things in them. Like a list of palindromes in English and another one in Spanish, or ranking the heights of everyone in her class, or words she wants to use or a sentence she read and wanted to remember. It's kind of therapeutic? She doesn't even organize them, it's just like collecting data at the end of the day instead of journaling.

Her mom is very much a helicopter mom who calls her every day, and every time she calls Sabrina is convinced someone died, but if her mother doesn't call, she's also convinced someone died.

Taller than both her brothers and they can suck it. They still call her their little Potato and try to pick her up every time they see her, though, and Sabrina tries to cause them grievous bodily harm.

Wears socks with sandals.

She scrubbed her arms raw to get that glitter litter off her after the cat party and she nearly punched a wall when she found more in her hair.

Can't drive, but she's a hell of a backseat driver. Gets vicarious road rage.

Doesn't sleep very well because she has alarm anxiety. She wakes up like every hour to make sure it's still night and her three alarms haven't failed to go off.

• Still undecided on what to call her the week of her due date, Lucy's family played a game of Baccarat to see who would pick the baby's names (which, honestly, says everything there is to say about her home dynamic, then and now). Lucy's grandfather won and named her after a Frank Zappa song. Her middle name is for his wife and her grandmother, Eleanor, who died the year before she was born.
  
• Lucy's first Big Crush was in middle school, on one of her father's PhD students. She was banned from "dropping in" during office hours for a long time due to how incredibly Awkward she was about her True and Earnest Love (there was an attempt to flirt by passing on an ~Original Poem in Latin~, which her father kept framed on his desk for a long time as a means of warding her away. He still quotes it when he's trying to get a rise out of her).
  
• After the Unhappy Truths announcement back in January, Lucille "said goodbye" to her parents by sitting in the morning sun, thinking of them, and doing one mindful thing in each of their names. Dustin's gift of a translation came about during that session. Of note is the fact that Lucy has yet to say goodbye to her grandfather in the same way. She's saving it for the "right time," which is if/when she knows there's no hope of survival.
  
• After their outing to town instead of the Valentine's Dance, Lucy replaced the lucky Devil tarot she gave Dustin last November with a Hanged Man from the same deck, which she now carries in secret almost constantly. It also bears exploration dates and the number 27, which (bonus headcanon) is her lucky number and, actually, their magical number based on some spooky!math she did in the first throes of her crush on him (12/27 is her birthday, & when you take 12 (The Hanged Man) from 27, you have 15 (The Devil) leftover!!!!1!). It's .... so embarrassing. I actually think she would feel an ounce of shame if someone found out about this.
  
• Lucy laminated the giant cat Devil Pearl gave her for Christmas, and it is now duct-taped to the outside of her gig bag.
  
• Even out of season, Lucy can sometimes still be seen wearing the sweater Russ gifted the Devil Arcana last December. On a similar note, she often sleeps in her Dangerous Darlings tank top but pretends she doesn't know where it is.
  
• Though I'm sure nobody but Gregory is curious, I feel the need to clarify that she no longer gets her period due to her stress level and being underweight. :( :(
  
• Lucy would have a harder time telling you what her favorite film is than choosing a favorite book, if she absolutely had to do either.
  
• Most embarrassing of all, Lucy takes time every week to focus on her squad members and send healing or protective vibes toward them as part of her magical practice. :( :( :( There are a lot of pages in her private journal where she's written their names and the names of their personas over and over again to draw various sigils (often, Yeialel's anchor). This is ... also embarrassing. She pretends it's just Art.

Russ's dad makes a good amount of money, but also wastes it all. He has a gambling problem and huge issues with impulse control and just buys a lot of frivolous and fun shit he sees on Amazon for Russ instead of things he actually needs like, uh...... college tuition. Or clothes. He wants to be the Cool Dad!!

But Russ is ALSO very impulsive and driven by FUN and wastes his allowance on stupid shit so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree???

His dad totally lives in something like that underground party bomb shelter in Vegas with a Brett McKenzie-faced roommate who's an equally irresponsible dumbass.

Speaking of dumb purchases, his dad bought him a motorcycle for his 17th birthday but he hasn't even been around to drive it so he just takes cool pics posing with it when he visits his dad in Vegas.

F-freckles????? I DID NOT KNOW HE HAD FRECKLES UNTIL I WAS LOOKING FOR A DARK ROOTS PIC???? UM BUT HE HAS FRECKLES NOW, THANKS

Also he lets his dark roots grow wild and free until Lee attacks him with the bleach.

His icons show him clean shaven, but Russ is a stubbly boy bc he def does not want to shave every day. Now that he's not actively trying to smooch the whole school, he's gotten even lazier about his shaving routine.

• when she goes home for breaks she and her siblings drag all the blankets and bedding in the house into the room she shares with two of her sisters, puts it in the middle of the floor, and sleep in a giant pile like it's a sleepover. she's aware that she's now probably too old to do this but does not care.
  
• she doesn't accept failure from herself so tbh she's p terrified of making a total ass of herself in the play. turning down the role would be an even more obvious failure and that's why she's still in the ensemble, despite her complete lack of acting skill.
  
• despite the 'do in a lot of her icons, she's been wearing her hair like the gif below for the last few months.
  
• this has come up a couple times but it's also very timely, so: her mom died on her birthday when she was a kid. she loves celebrating her friends' birthdays because she loves celebrating her friends, but she hates her own birthday and pretends it doesn't exist. all she wants to do is be with her family, and at least she'll be able to be with them right up until the date this year :')
  
• she's a huge fangirl of venus's mom but does not know that she is venus's mom.
  
• is not allowed to drive. does not know how to ride a bike. DOES love riding on public transit, especially buses.
  
• she still lowkey text flirts with the haling cove animal shelter volunteer so she can get updates on mrs. pickle. she sees nothing ethically wrong with this.
  
• she has a weekly facetime date with her sibs where they all sit around and do their homework. she will never cancel. she helps them when they have questions or trouble with something, and also encourages them to help each other in the same way. this is partly because it's one of her fave things to do with them (learning!!!) and so if she croaks in the shadow world, they'll still be able to help each other succeed.
  
• has been secretly panicking for about 2 weeks re: her weekend with suzy. it goes against her staunch refusal for anybody to pay medium-to-big money on her and she knows it and she's trying to reconcile that with the fact that she said yes and still really wants to do it. she wants to be selfish but how to be selfish when it's also kind of going against your very loud values??? she's at war with herself. it's dumb. (she's also been panicking bc she thinks that this weekend suzy will realize she is Boring and/or Annoying and/or More Trouble Than She's Worth and/or A Host of Other Things)

Headcanons:

Monet's enjoyment of documentaries and older films comes from the early days of recovering from her accident, when she would spend hours on her own going through various phases of interest.

There are a lot of photos and stories about Monet online on her mother's blog, which has been fairly popular for years. She tried pretty hard to keep people from finding out about it when she first came to Finchwood, but is less concerned about it now. Unfortunately, the vast majority of what you'll find is staged or exaggerated. Most entertaining are the multiple threads in gossip communities online, who have been convinced the Romilly children are secretly miserable for years. They aren't completely wrong.

Monet goes outside whenever she needs to think through something very carefully. She tries to spend a little time outdoors every day regardless, even when it's freezing or rainy or otherwise inclement. Despite her usual commitment to neatness and order, things like getting muddy, stomping in puddles or getting her hair messed up in the wind can reduce her to something that almost resembles giddiness.

Monet's favorite fashion designer is Guo Pei. Her favorite historical periods to learn about re: fashion and textiles are Tudor England and Heian Period Japan. She also has a soft spot for 60s Mod.

Although she recently crowed to her squad about how healthy her sleep routine is, Monet can in fact occasionally be found in the Cups common area late at night, trying to upkeep some of the older/more finicky vintage pieces in her wardrobe.

When she's stressed and has nothing else to work on, Monet puts on random podcasts, listens for interesting phrases, and then tries to make them look beautiful in her calligraphy journal. Hence, said journal is ... very incoherent, if you ever thumb through it. But very eye-catching.

Monet's only pre-Exploration "ritual" is listening to Lizst's Liebestraum.

Monet and her brother, Indigo, text each other images of the morning sky every day, but rarely talk about anything substantial when they're apart.

Pearl is left-handed!

This was mentioned like a year ago in the two lies meme, but she really does sleep with a stuffed rabbit still. Its name is Mitzi and she's never getting rid of it. It was a gift from her grandmother, who is dead. Pearl was close to her and some aunts growing up, so she still keeps Mitzi as a reminder and probably always will.

Pearl is a BIG time fidgeter who has to be doing something with her hands at all moments. In class, this means drumming small tunes on the desk, and in conversation, she reaches out to touch her friends' hands and shoulders and knees a lot.

The cat party was the first time Pearl's actually been suuuuper drunk all year; she has cut back on drinking by a LOT ever since she started hanging out with Atticus so much

Pearl has written at least one song about every one of her friends, but it's very veiled so they won't know

Her bike's name is Lydia and her helmet's name is Deetz. I guess it's important to mention that a) Pearl is in the No Driving club but plans on getting her license next year and b) Pearl names almost every single inanimate object that has any significance to her in her life. She has the decency to mostly keep this in her own head.

She drinks at least two cups of tea a day

Pearl DID get into college but she's not really telling anyone about it until after spring break when she is sneaking to Portland to audition for scholarships!

Headcanons:

• He's named Liam because his parents referred to him as the lima bean while mom was pregnant. They were afraid of losing the pregnancy and didn't want to pick a name. But then, when he was born, they just scrambled the letters and got Liam.
• He drives a shitty blue 2007 Hyundai Sonata. He got it for 200 bucks off of a cousin. I'm not sure how it's still running. It makes a freaky clunking noise sometimes, and in order to get the power windows to roll up or down he has to stick his foot up into the wiring.
• Out of necessity, he got his driver's license as soon as he possibly could. Mainly, it was to help his parents out more, but he really enjoyed the independence and took to it. He's not road rage-y, but he definitely yells a lot.
• His nickname for his as-yet-unborn baby sister is Puppy.
• Liam likes having his nails painted, but always makes a mess when he tries to do it. So he doesn't.
• When he's at home, he volunteers at the Phipp's Conservatory. Before Finchwood, he briefly worked part time at a college bookstore. Not being able to work drives him nuts.
• He's gonna go wild with the tattoos once he turns 18. His first planned tattoo is a spread of tarot cards representing Squad 12. He'll eventually also get a Chariot card elsewhere, I'm sure. And probably a stylized Hahaiah, if he can get a good rendering of her. I imagine he'll get a full sleeve at some point. There will be orchids. And possibly some nerd shit in there.
• On the ride out to the rift, he always reads the same book - A Wizard of Earthsea - just because it's comforting to have something that's consistent. He has a lot of ritualistic habits like this in life.
• His most embarrassing (and newest) ritualistic anti-anxiety habit is telling Marty to "Be safe" in the exact same way before he heads off for the rift when Squad 2 goes in. If he doesn't do it, he frets (more than he normally does) that This Will Be The Time.
• Prolific fanfiction writer. He doesn't stick to one fandom but dabbles in whatever setting strikes him. "Fanfiction" is probably a very loose term, since most of what he writes is original fiction that steals worldbuilding from an established setting.
• Has tried to go vegetarian in the past, but inevitably fails. Pizza rolls and chili cheese fries are his weakness.
• Has slowly started assembling a second hodgepodge tarot deck with cards that remind him of his Finchwood friends.
