NAME: Adam Il-sung Ho ROOM: Senior Swords Boys ROOMMATES: Atticus Starling & Scout Thoroughgood
DECORATIONS: Adam largely considers his room at Finchwood Academy to be a lost cause. It's much smaller than his room at home despite being shared by three people, it doesn't have enough natural light, and that dresser taking the place of a proper walk-in closet is a joke. But he does the best he can with what he has and he isn't particularly concerned with decor anyway. Because his roommates are both uncommonly utilitarian, though, he does take it upon himself to give the room some character with a plush black and white patterned rug in the center of the floor, dark curtains, a mirror stretching across the wall over he and Scout's dressers, and other small touches. He also supplies the room with a mini-fridge that sits under the windows between his roommmates' beds and an Amazon Echo, two 'necessities' for the three of them to share.
His desk is organized but covered with all of his text books, notebooks, reference materials, writing tools, and electronics, leaving little space for anything else. Behind his desk, there's a combination corkboard and chalkboard; there are photos (of his family, his perfect dog, and some of his friends) pinned to the former and he uses the latter to keep to-do lists and write notes for himself, often in Korean. Other noteworthy touches to his personal space include a grayscale and gold wall tapestry that can be hung in front of the area beneath his bunk as a makeshift privacy curtain and an expensive-looking black leather box on top of his dresser that's filled with even more expensive-looking watches, cuff links, rings, sunglasses, money clips, and other accessories. He sometimes has small ceramic or woodworking projects perched on his dresser or on the corner of his desk as well, but he never stays happy with his own work for very long and it eventually disappears....somewhere?
TIDINESS: Despite being notoriously unwilling to deal with things like sweeping floors and doing laundry, Adam does prefer a neat living environment and he picks up after himself/organizes his belongings enough to keep his section of the room tidy. If more than that is required, he'll outsource.
STANDARDS: Adam expects the basic roommate courtesies, like keeping the room tidy and the noise level to a minimum when he's trying to get his beauty sleep, but other than that he doesn't actually expect much from Atticus and Scout. He doesn't mind his roommates bringing people back to the room (though they rarely do), he doesn't mind them borrowing his belongings as long as they come back in good condition and he feels appropriately appreciated afterward (though they rarely do that either), and he doesn't have any real rules that he demands they follow.
While he complains about their taste in clothing and their apperances at times, he doesn't actually attempt to enforce better fashion conduct. Usually.
PET PEEVES:The fact that Atticus looks like a hobo and Scout looks like a farmhand. Apart from breaking the rules of basic roommate courtesy mentioned above, not much. He's a temperamental guy and he gets pissed off about a lot of things, but most of them don't have to do with the rooming situation specifically.
HABITS: Adam doesn't spend much time in the room because he tends to keep himself busy and to want to do things in their proper place; he focuses on his studies best in the library, he focuses on working out best in the gym, and so on. This means that when he comes back to the dormitory, he's either looking to socialize or sleep. When Atticus and Scout are in the room but are reading or otherwise preoccupied, he tends to feel irrationally put out.
HIDDEN TREASURES: Adam keeps a stock of expensive booze for special occasions at all times, though this isn't exactly a secret among his peers since he often brings it to parties or the aforementioned special occasions. Last year, a picture of Adam and Kodi featured prominently on his corkboard. This picture disappeared shortly after their breakup because he took it down, tore it into four pieces in a bout of anger, and...slipped it into one of his advanced mathematics reference texts. Because he couldn't quite bring himself to throw it in the trash. He's forgotten where it ended up but he'd prefer nobody else know where it is either.
SLEEPING HABITS: Adam keeps a regimented sleep schedule to support his intense and focused schedule during the day, going to bed around 10PM/11PM and getting up around 5AM to run with Scout and hit the gym for strength training. While he tends to fall asleep easily, he can't sleep well without complete darkness (prompting him to sleep with a sleep mask on and his bed curtain drawn) and he wakes up just as easily. He's semi-frequently woken up in the middle of the night by anxious text messages from Eli but can usually get back to sleep once he's attempted to help his friend through his crisis of the day.
He sometimes talks in his sleep but, fortunately for him, he almost always does this in Korean. His sleep schedule changes on the weekends to accommodate parties and bad decisions.
BATHROOM HABITS: Adam is fastidious when it comes to his appearance and he wants to be clean, neat, and put together as much as he can. He showers every morning after his workout and often showers again in the afternoon after training or other physical activities, he always has product in his hair (even when he doesn't properly style it because he knows he's going to be in training or the Shadow World all day), and he's always clean shaven. While he has several outrageously expensive colognes, his favorite and most frequently used is Gold Knight by Kilian.
He likes being pampered and will use hair masks, facial masks, and other beauty products with some frequency. He also likes to get manicures at a shop in town, though he constantly complains about the mediocre quality and his habit of working with his hands quickly ruins them anyway.
COMMON ROOM: Adam only spends time in the common room if he's looking to socialize or if he's participating in a study group that's meeting there. He doesn't give it much thought otherwise. When he is there, though, he has no reservations about putting his needs or the needs of his friends above those of others and he can get pushy about unwelcome distractions.
