Neal: yes, if he had a concrete, specific reason. He wouldn't stand for himself or a squad member being hurt just because. However, if he was presented with a specific reason like "everyone in Peach Hollow will totes die if you fail" he'd accept it. Neal would resist anyone dying or suffering for a vague ideal. He will fight friends to stop them from hurting in the name of a nebulous promise. Protective of his squad. Would secretly rather see an innnocent stranger die than one of his squadmates.
Eli: ultimately, Eli is a coward. However, if he's ever put in a situation where he must choose to do the right thing or suffer/die... he'll do the right thing. If you're familiar with MGS, he's Otacon brave. He shows his true colors under severe pressure, and they're pretty good.

Flint... depends. He cares about his family too much and feels responsible for taking care of them but depending on how things develop this year, I could easily see him choose some dumb shit. He's Lawful Good as hell, with all the pitfalls involved.

Kyra would tell her team the direct opposite of this (whatever this is isn’t worth dying for), and she would always fight really hard to delay/trick/ stop the inevitable. But in the end, if it came down to her or a team member, then yes. And if it came down to her and an bystander she uhhh might let them die, but then would feel so incredibly guilty later she might do a sacrifice anyway. Long story short, yes, but only after literally every other option has been explored and exhausted.

At present, both of my boys are idiots that don't consider death a real possibility, Adam because he thinks he can take down anything with enough force and Dallas because he's been a careless risk-taker for a long time and never experienced any real consequences. So. Getting into that mindset for either of them would be difficult. But ultimately, I think...
Yes, Adam would. He doesn't have a lot of direction in life but he sort of thinks this fighting Shadows thing might be his calling and he's intensely protective of his friends, his family, and his squad, so if he thought there weren't any other options and that sacrificing himself would protect those people, he'd do it. And cause as much damage while going down as possible. Blaze of glory, please. He'd like you guys to be talking about this for a while. I think he'd probably do it even for people outside of his immediate circle/for a large group of strangers, but it'd be a harder choice.
Yes, Dallas also would but way more reluctantly. He's willing to take any number of risks for the cause and will undoubtedly put himself in all sorts of danger, but acknowledging and confronting that sort of sacrifice directly would be more difficult for him. The fact that not stopping the Shadow threat would have an immediate impact on his dad in Haling Cove, though, probably solidifies this for him and he's more likely to sacrifice himself for the broader cause than for any other specific student or anything at this point. But I'm sure some of them will win him over.

Scout: Absolutely, though if there were time to think on it he'd try to make sure that it was a sensible sacrifice - pointless death helps no one, and he wouldn't want to hurt his friends and family for no reason. If there wasn't time to think? He'd do it in a heartbeat, especially if it meant protecting someone else
Hadlee: Uhhhh there are like two people at this point she'd sacrifice herself for, and it'd likely have to be just a spur of the moment thing. Despite being an idiot she does have a sense of self-preservation, and she is not a sparkly alruistic child who would die for a rando or for something non-momentous. She'd cry about it (hey Marzio!)

seem like it. Getting maimed is fine, but dead isn't. He doesn't do well
with Causes; he just can't conceptualize things on that scale. He would
probably be willing to for people he cared a lot about, but he'd rather not
if that was an option. He doesn't want to die to Save The World, though.
