MEME: Two Truths & A Lie

Two Truths & A Lie

It's important to know your classmates, right? Well, somebody thinks so because the students of Finchwood Academy have decided to play two truths and a lie over their journals to kill some time!

HOW THIS WORKS

  • Comment with your character's name in the header.

  • In-character, list two truths and one lie about your character in a second comment! See example.

  • Other characters will read these statements and try to pick out the lie. They can ask questions to try to make better guesses or take a shot in the dark.

  • If your character's lie is guessed, you're welcome to reply under your name again and do another set.

  • If your character wants to tease a friend, start some rumors, or otherwise sow mischief, you can also list two truths and a lie under someone else's name. These comments will work the same way as the others but may or may not be appreciated. See example.

  • Please note that we aren't playing this as a drinking game or a truth serum or anything like that. This is just an ice-breaker game! While there's nothing to stop your kiddos from lying when answering questions, we'd prefer that the initial two truths actually reflect something true about the character. Mostly because we're nosy but also because it makes things more fun!

This applies to the mischievous sorts that choose to reply under someone else's name. Humor us. ♥ If you don't know another character well enough to be able to do this, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

  • We're fully expecting for this to turn into a shitpost full of tangents and random conversations. So feel free! This is to help you find your character's voice, after all.

  • This meme is non-canon and none of the conversations held here will have happened in-game. This meme is open to all characters that are currently held, even if the mods haven't received applications or the character hasn't been excepted yet.

It's way easier than Math. There aren't Trashy Math Novels.

It has its place! But there's no narrative depth or anything!

Imaginary numbers.

Re: Eli

it's just a number that when squared has a negative result so it doesn't have a tangible value. like yeah you can get more into it but there's no, like, alternative interpretation of what imaginary numbers actually are without proof???

I literally have no idea what you just said. I don't think that was English.

Exactly. It's not about guessing what some dead guy was trying to say or what colors symbolize or how words on a page are supposed to make you feel. Math is objective. It makes sense.
